CHRISTMAS... WHY JESUS?

  

...Because our lives and eternal lives depend on Him! That is a bold statement, right? Let me share why I believe this...

This is what we Christians celebrate at this time of the year:

Luke 2:10-12

¹⁰ But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. ¹¹ Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. ¹² This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”

Isaiah 9:6

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Matthew 1:21

She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.

John 3:16-17

¹⁶ For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. ¹⁷ For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

1 John 5:12

Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.

Jesus said in John 5:24:

²⁴ “Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life.

And there are many, many more Bible passages! Christmas is not about shopping or a beautiful Christmas tree, which are nice things. The true meaning of Christmas is that God sent Jesus into the world to save us and die for our sins, so that those of us who believe in Him as the Messiah and only Son of God, will not perish, but have EVERLASTING LIFE, ETERNAL LIFE!!!
